I did a two-day tour of Somaliland from Hargeisa to Berbera and back and was very happy with how well the trip went. Above all the possibility to speak with locals with the help of my great guide was priceless. Thanks to it I was able to have a conversation e.g. with a 60-year-old nomadic woman Fatima, who has never learnt how to read and write, delivered her 6 children under a bush tree and in general had an unbelievably different conception of life from mine. For these experiences I’m thankful.

Went with Souheb and Mohammad to do the Lake Abbe and lake Assal tour. They met me at the airport, were organized, professional, and friendly, and took me to what I feel is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Felt safe and as comfortable as one can be for such a remote destination as lake Abbe. Pictures don’t do this place justice at all and you really have to see if for yourself. It is gigantic and you can walk all day through it. Highly recommend this company and this tour.

Somaliland is a fascinating country with a very nice feel to it and nice people in general. The services provided were great with good services and the possibility to get close to people and great guiding. Car and hotels were also in good shape.

If there was a six star, I would have given it to Macrobia Expeditions. I had travelled with them to Berbera, Las Geer, Burco, Erigavo and the Dallo Mountains on an eight-day dour It was a perfectly organized trip. The hotels and food were very good and more importantly I had excellent chief guide with me. They were extremely knowledgeable, polite, gentle and took complete care of their clients. It can be a little expensive because the government mandates a security escort for every foreign tourist. Somaliland is extremely safe to visit. Its fact it is much safer than many cities in the west.

It has been an unforgettable adventure in Somaliland. We have only two days but still managed to discover Hargeisa and unique Las Geel. And Mansoor hotel has met my expectations. I spent some days in Somaliland organized by Somaliland Travel.
Everything was professional from beginning to end thanks to my referent and driver/guide. He was helpful and constructive. When I asked my questions before the trip, I got the correct answers within 24 hours. The hotels were comfortable, the jeep had got AC. The program gave a lot of experience, especially Laas Geel which is the oldest rock art in Afrika. I liked Berbera very much, it has got a special atmosphere, and the people looked at me as if they saw a miracle. There are not too many tourists in the streets … Somaliland is absolutely safe; I recommend the visit for everybody – of course with Somaliland Travel Agency.

This tour group is absolutely top-notch! Akram is quite knowledgeable and willing to do whatever is needed to make sure you are happy. I travelled with my 11-year-old son and the guides always tried to make connections with him. The ride to the amazing sites was long and bumpy- and Akram drove like a champ! When I was dropped off at the airport, I realized that I forgot my good camera in the back of the SUV. They send it to my country.

I just took a trip with Somaliland Travel and had a fantastic time. Excellent guide, arranging everything for me and taking me everywhere I wanted to go and more. We went to Laas Geel, Berbera, and Sheikh, which was a nice amount of variety. The rock art in Laas Geel was amazing, and Sheikh was such a beautiful juxtaposition to the rest of the country. My guide did a great job explaining some of the history and culture of Somaliland, and we had a lot of fun. He was more than a guide: he became a friend. I’m so grateful to have had such a nice trip, and I hope to come back someday and see more of this beautiful country.
